Somalia: Demonstration against British hostages occurs in central Town

ADADO, Somalia, June 19(Mareeg)—Hundreds of people protesting against the British couple hostages took to the streets of Adado, a town in Galgadud region in central Somalia, witnesses and officials said on Saturday.



The demonstrators came together in a park in the centre of the town, where the district commissioner, Mohamed Hassan Ade addressed to the protestors.



Mr. Hassan called on the captors to release the hostages immediately without conditions and delay.



The British couple Paul and Rachel Chandler was kidnapped last October while sailing towards Tanzania after leaving the Seychelles islands in East Africa.



They remain in captivity a bush near Adado town in central Somalia and said they are being treated "cruelly."
